PITTSBURG, Calif. – Sophomore Raqual Smith scored a career-high 18 points to lead the St. Francis junior varsity gold team to a 50-35 win over host Pittsburg in the final of the Lady Pirate Holiday Classic.

Smith scored 12 of her 18 points in the second half as the Troubadours outscored the Pirates 31-16 to break open a close game. Smith was one of four Troubies named to the All-Tournament team including Maya Hilger, Zahra Smith and Jojo Myers, who was named the Most Valuable player.

Myers contributed 14 points after scoring a career-best 22 in the opening win over Liberty. SF also defeated Liberty in the semifinals, improving to 5-1 on the season with five consecutive wins.
