RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. – Junior Mia Hill finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke and tied for fourth with teammate Marissa Recio in the 200 individual medley to post the top individual finishes for St. Francis, which sent a small crew to the Catholic Challenge swim meet, hosted by Santa Margarita High School Saturday.

The host Eagles won the meet with 732.5 points, followed by Sacred Heart (429), Mater Dei of Santa Ana (345), the Troubadours (297) and Mater Dei of San Diego (189.5).

Hill and Recio touched the final pad in two minutes, 11.54 seconds to share fourth place in the IM. Then later in the meet, they finished just two hundredths of a second apart in the 100 breaststroke. Hill posted a 1:09.00, with Recio just behind at 1:09.02. Both juniors also took part in St. Francis' third-place 200 medley relay (1:54.55) and fourth-place 400 free relay (3:45.26).

Freshman Lilla Kapinya led off each of the 200 medley and 400 free relays. She also paced the Troubies in the 50 free with a seventh-place 25.62, while matching that finish in the 100 breast at 1:12.15. Senior Megan Gawlick also took seventh in the 500 free with her 5:26.29.

The Troubadours wrap up the regular season with a Senior Night Delta League dual with Davis on Wednesday. The meet starts at 3:30, while the team will honor 2024 graduates Gawlick, Ashlyn Brock, Ella Ching, Makenna Frederiksen, Grace Mering and Lydia Vlahos prior to the meet.
