WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Hope Jenkins hit a three-home run and pitched a two-hit shutout as St. Francis posted a 10-0 win over River City Friday night in their season opener.

St. Francis opened the game with a walk and hit batter to setup cleanup hitter Jenkins, who hit two home runs last season, with two runners on base for her first at-bat of the season. She hit a line drive homer to left field for all the runs the Troubadours would need in the contest.

The Troubadours broke the game open in the third winning with a seven-run outburst.

Jenkins, who went 9-6 as a freshman, started the rally in the third with a walk. After another walk, Paige Herbert singled to load the bases, Isabelle Vela and Haley Kim both drew walks to add two runs and SF added runs on an error, passed ball and sacrifice fly by freshman Jazzy Basquez.

On the mount, Jenkins (1-0) allowed just two hits and a walk with six strikeouts in her season debut. She finished 1-for-1 at the plate with two walks, three RBI and two runs scored. Grace Jenkins also score two runs and freshman Olivia McFarland had a hit in her high school debut.
