Softball Hands Rosemont 11-7 Loss

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Hope Jenkins had three hits and three runs scored to help the St. Francis softball team post an 11-7 win over Rosemont on Wednesday.

St. Francis (5-1) trailed early bit took control in the third inning with two runs highlighted by a Paige Herbert double. The Troubadours piled on four runs as Amy Abueg and Daniella Guerrera had run-scoring hits in the fourth. Grace Jenkins (2-for-4) had the big hit with a triple to score two runs.

The Troubies took the lead to 11-3 before allowing four runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Abueg got the win on the mound, recording six strikeouts over six innings with seven runs on 11 hits. Hope Jenkins closed out the game, recording the last three outs.

St. Francis lost a close game on Tuesday to 3-2 to Vista del Lago for the team's first loss. The game ended with the bases loaded for the Troubies.

St. Francis travels to Del Oro on Saturday. Varsity plays at 10 a.m. and Junior Varsity at 12:30 p.m.
