Troubie softball blanked in six against Del Oro

LOOMIS, Calif. – Sophomore Kinsley Imm and juniors Isabelle Barge and Alexis McFarland accounted for their team's three total hits as St. Francis dropped a six-inning, 11-0 shutout at Del Oro in Sierra Foothill League fastpitch action Friday afternoon.

The Troubadours suffer their sixth consecutive loss, falling to 1-8 overall and 0-3 in league play. The Golden Eagles, ranked behind only Oak Ridge in the Sac-Joaquin Section according to MaxPreps, improve to 12-1 for the year.

Barge's hit came in the second inning as part of a rally that loaded the bases, but did not score any runs. Marissa Jensen drew a walk and Emma Fox was hit by a 1-1 pitch before DO senior Ava Messina coaxed a ground out to end the threat. McFarland and Imm knocked out back-to-back base hits in the third, only for Eagle junior third baseman Avery Enyart to initiate a 5-3 double header to close out the frame.

St. Francis went down in order in the fourth through sixth innings before DO second baseman Avyn Brower delivered a two-run home run to left, capping a five-run sixth and invoking the run rule to end the game.

The Troubadours return home to host Oak Ridge on Wednesday. First pitch is 5 p.m. at Schuster Field.
