Sacramento, CA- St. Francis Golf competed in their first duel match of the season versus Sheldon High School on Wednesday. The Troubies hosted the Huskies at Haggin Oaks playing the front nine of the Arcade Course. SF earned the win with a final team score of 216-254. Returning senior, Haanya Niazi had a three-over-par final score of 39 to lead the team and place second overall. 

When asked about her performance, Niazi said, "I am very proud of the way I played in our first match. I was able to hit some great drives, and also make up for some not-so-great approach shots with my putting. This season is something that I have been waiting for since August, so I am extremely excited to be a part of the revival of sports during COVID. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season turns out!"

St. Francis is scheduled to return to league action against Elk Grove at Emerald Lakes Golf Course on Monday.  Edit: the match on Monday has been rescheduled for March. Stay tuned for more updates.
