    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis girls’ tennis captured the 2022 Sac-Joaquin Section Academic Team Championship, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. The Troubadours compiled a 3.88 overall grade-point average to earn the honor.
  • Cross country season wraps at CIF state meet

    FRESNO, Calif. – Seniors Daphne Witherell and Paige Quigley finished 38th and 48th, respectively, out of 202 total runners as St. Francis placed 11th as a team at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park Saturday afternoon. The Troubadours scored 299 total points, just one behind Canyon and eight ticks behind both Citrus Valley and Mira Costa.
  • Han-Wei, Worthen lead Troubies on Delta League fall honor roll

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Freshman Arden Han-Wei captured Player of the Year for golf while first-year cross country mentor Chad Worthen captured Coach of the Year distinction, as the Delta League rolled out its 2022 fall sports awards Monday. These awards arrived in a season that also saw tennis players Aniyus Pierre and Chloe Garcia capture the league doubles championship.

    FOLSOM, Calif. – Junior Grace Dunham and Kayla Towne and seniors Paige Quigley and Daphne Witherell formed a tight pack among the top 15 finishers of the Division II varsity girls’ 5-kilometer race, leading St. Francis to a third-place finish and a state championship berth at the Sac-Joaquin Section cross country championship meet at Willow Hills Reservoir Saturday.

    ANGELS CAMP, Calif. – Sophomore Carly Hall, senior Remi Vrilakas and senior Paige Quigley led St. Francis in the Division II frosh-soph, junior varsity and varsity races, respectively, in Saturday’s Sac-Joaquin Sub-Section cross country championship meet, hosted at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds – also known as “Frogtown.”

    ROCKLIN, Calif. – Senior Paige Quigley finished second overall in the girls’ varsity 3-mile race with a time of 18 minutes, 26.3 seconds, while senior Daphne Witherell followed in third place at 18:39.6, leading St. Francis to its fifth consecutive team title at the Delta League Cross Country Championships at William Jessup Saturday.

    ELVERTA, Calif. – Senior Paige Quigley finished 10th overall, while junior Grace Dunham followed in 15th and senior Daphne Witherell in 18th, boosting St. Francis to a second-place total of 88 points in the girls’ varsity 5-kilometer race at the Flat SAC Invitational cross country meet at Gibson Ranch Saturday morning. Additionally, senior Remi Vrilakas notched a runner-up finish and Magdalena Becerril placed third in the junior varsity 5K to lift the Troubadours past Davis by just two team points.
  • Witherell bests field at Cordova's HOKA Invite

    RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – St. Francis senior Daphne Witherell bested all runners with a winning time of 11 minutes, 11.83 seconds in the fourth and fastest two-mile heat of Cordova’s HOKA Invitational Saturday. She finished more than seven seconds faster than her nearest competitor, McClatchy’s Louisa McNatt.
  • Towne's strong finish leads Troubies at Clovis

    FRESNO, Calif. – Junior Kayla Towne finished 44th with a time of 18 minutes, 53.8 seconds, while seniors Paige Quigley and Daphne Witherell crossed the line close behind in 45th and 50th, leading St. Francis to an 11th-place team total of 266 points in the Championship Girls’ 5-kilometer race at the 43rd ASICS Clovis Invitational Saturday.

    FOLSOM, Calif. – Senior Paige Quigley, junior Grace Dunham and junior Kayla Towne each finished among the top 10 individuals to lead St. Francis to a first-place total of 61 team points in the Tom Laythe Invitational girls’ varsity 5-kilometer race Saturday morning. The Bella Vista-hosted meet took place at the Willow Hill Reservoir Community Park course that also serves as the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section championship site.

    ELVERTA, Calif. – Senior Daphne Witherell finished second overall with a time of 18 minutes, 2.5 seconds, while fellow senior Paige Quigley crossed one place behind in 18:05.8, leading five St. Francis runners in the top five of the girls’ 3-mile varsity race, leading the Troubadours to a dominating win at the Delta League Center Meet held at Cherry Island Sports Complex Wednesday morning.

    VACAVILLE, Calif. – Senior Paige Quigley and junior Grace Dunham finished third and fourth, respectively, to lead St. Francis to a commanding win in the varsity girls' three-mile race of the Lagoon Valley Classic cross country meet Saturday morning. Overall, the Troubadours had four runners among the top 10 en route to a winning total of 32 points, 56 more than Delta League foe Franklin.
  • Varsity, JV wins team titles to open 2022 season

    ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Senior Daphne Witherell finished 11th overall while junior Kayla Towne and senior Paige Quigley crossed close behind in 15th and 16th place to lead St. Francis to a close 67-75 victory over second-place Oak Ridge in the varsity 4-kilometer race at the Oakmont Invitational cross country meet at Maidu Park Saturday.
  • Worthen named to St. Francis cross country helm

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Chad Worthen, a veteran of high school, club and collegiate distance running, has been appointed as the head cross country coach at St. Francis Catholic High School, Director of Athletics Ryan Chisolm announced Tuesday. Worthen begins his post immediately.
