JV Red soccer blanks Inderkum, 3-0

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Mia Nelson, Ava Larkin and Aubrey Lesnau each scored goals to lead St. Francis' Red junior varsity squad to a 3-0 win over Inderkum in girls' soccer action Friday afternoon.

The Troubadours pick up their second straight shutout, improving to 3-2-1 for the season.

Nelson scored her goal in the 31st minute, converting an assist from Holland Sperber. Ava Larkin then netted the second score in the 61st before assisting Lesnau in the 68th. Overall, St. Francis managed 25 total shots, with Nelson leading the way with five. On the defensive end, Gabriela Briscoe notched three saves in her second appearance as goalkeeper.

The JV Red win coincided with the "Holy Cup" doubleheader at Christian Brothers. JV Gold ran away with a 4-0 win over the Falcons, while the varsity held on to a 2-1 victory in the nightcap. Coverage of this game can be found elsewhere at GoTroubies.com.

St. Francis JV Red hosts Folsom (Monday) and Rocklin (Wednesday) before breaking for the holidays. Monday's game, which starts at 3 p.m., moved from the campus field to Cristo Rey.
