SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Yasmin Azar captured Player of the Year honors while head coach Maryclaire Robinson garnered her third consecutive Coach of the Year nod, leading St. Francis on the winter sports All-Delta League rolls as announced by the league office this week. Both Azar and Robinson snared their respective honors for girls' soccer.

 

Overall, four Troubadour basketball players and four soccer players earned first-team All-Delta League distinction. The league's coaches convene after the conclusion of their respective regular seasons to vote on the league awards, but the winners are not officially announced until the last Delta League member has completed its respective section playoff participation.

St. Francis soccer won its 15th all-time Sac-Joaquin Section award in program history last Saturday, defeating Granite Bay in the Division II title game. The Troubadours were then granted the No. 1 seed in the CIF NorCal Regional, which concludes this Saturday. Basketball scored a 10-over-7 upset of Patterson in the first round of the D-II draw before falling to area powerhouse Vanden two nights later.

Azar, a Coastal Carolina commit who led the Troubies with 17 goals this season, joined Elizabeth Barger, Caitlin Hafenstein and Maggie Koerwitz on the girls' soccer first team. Meanwhile, seniors Brianna McGahan and Chidera Okoye, junior Sydney Teoh and sophomore Lexi London represented SF on the All-Delta League rolls for basketball.
