SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis volleyball program celebrated their three seniors and followed with a championship celebration after a 3-0 win over Franklin on Tuesday. St. Francis defeated Franklin 25-3, 25-12, 25-7 to finish the regular season 12-0 in league play.

"I am really proud of them," said Head Coach Alyn Wright. "They have had the target on their back all season long and they have responded really well. They played with a lot of heart and grit especially with how sick we have been this season."

Senior Kathryn Kramer, Sam Chavez and Madie Bachelor joined their family and friends for a pregame ceremony under the Memory Lane theme as they looked back on their careers.

"They are a very special group and each one of them brings something different and unique," said Wright. "I have had the honor to coach Kathy for four years and watch her grow as a person and a player. Sam and Madie the last two years have been realy fun. Sam has become a confident libero and defender and Madie Bachelor has come out of her shell and done really well in her senior year."

After the celebration, the Troubadours cruised through an opening set 25-3 with Kramer serving 16 straight points and finishing with 26 points on her serve in the match. She added 12 kills and 14 digs.

"It was fun to watch," said Wright. "She was hitting the ball well and had movement on it. She was hitting seems and served it long and short. She did a really good job."

Chavez also had a big serving night with 28 points on her serve. Alexa Edwards led the team with 15 kills and Jesiree Moral had 28 assists.

St. Francis fell behind in the second set 5-1 but quickly responded to take control of the set, winning 25-12. They took the third set 25-7 to wrap up the Delta League League title.

It is the second consecutive league title for the program, clinching a Sac-Joaquin Section playoff spot for the bracket announced later this week.

Wright and her seniors will now prepare for the playoffs starting next Tuesday.

"It has been an honor to coach them," said Wright.
