St. Francis repeats as section champions
ELK GROVE, Calif. – Junior Erica Jaffe and senior Grace Mering finished 1-2 in the girls’ varsity 100-yard backstroke, Mering won the 200 individual medley, and that tandem joined junior Mia Hill and freshman Lilla Kapinya in the winning 200 medley relay, leading St. Francis to the Division II title at the Sac-Joaquin Section swimming championships, held at the Elk Grove Aquatics Center Friday.
Troubies positioned for section swim title defense
ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Grace Mering led off a first-place 200-yard medley relay, qualified for championship finals in each of the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke events, then helped the 400 freestyle relay snare the fourth seed in the final, leading St. Francis varsity swimmers on the first day of the Sac-Joaquin Section Swimming & Diving Championships, held at Elk Grove Aquatic Center Wednesday.

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Junior Erica Jaffe led a 1-2-3 Troubadour sweep in the girls’ 100-yard backstroke, added another dominating win in the 100 freestyle, then took part in both of her team’s first-place relays for four total All-Delta League awards, helping St. Francis place second at the Delta League swimming championships held at the Elk Grove Aquatics Center Friday.
Jaffe leads Troubies on first day of Delta League championships
ELK GROVE, Calif. – Junior Erica Jaffe finished first in both the varsity 100-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke to lead St. Francis in the preliminary heats of the Delta League swimming championships, held at the Elk Grove Aquatics Center Thursday. The Troubadours look to defend their title in their last season before joining the Sierra Foothill League.
Six seniors honored in Delta League dual finale
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Erica Jaffe dominated the 100-yard backstroke with a winning time of 57.75 seconds while helping the 200 medley relay pick off a victory by less than a third of a second, but St. Francis fell short against league and section rival Davis in the final Delta League swim meet of the season at Jesuit High Wednesday.
