Four Troubies earn All-SJS for water polo

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Gauri Mathrakott earned a spot on the All-Sac-Joaquin Section Division II first team, while St. Francis High teammates LK Holliday, Ava Stimson and Sophia Santsche-Chavez made the second team, as voted by a group of coaches from the CIF-SJS earlier in November.

The selection committee gathered award slates for each of Divisions I, II and III, plus one overall All-SJS squad.

All four Troubadour athletes previously earned All-Delta League nods. Mathrakott scored 59 goals with team highs of 34 assists and 64 steals in her senior season, and was voted as the team's Most Valuable Player. Stimson, SF's Best Offensive Player award winner, scored a team-leading 60 goals in just 19 games while adding 17 assists and 30 steals. The Troubies' Best Defensive Player, Holliday nabbed 41 steals while adding eight goals and 24 assists on the attacking end. Santsche-Chavez served as the Troubies' lone goalkeeper, finishing with 121 saves against 125 goals.

St. Francis finished with an 11-11 overall record and advanced a round into the CIF-SJS Division II playoffs in 2022.
