SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis Catholic High School is proud to announce and welcome Ryan Chisolm as its new director of athletics. Chisolm, who previously served as the Associate Athletic Director at University High School in San Francisco, will assume his new role effective July 18. We are thrilled to welcome Ryan to the St. Francis community.
Chisolm is a perfect example of the caliber of professionals St. Francis seeks to mentor its coaches and student-athletes. He has a Masters in Sports Management from the University of San Francisco, and received his Bachelor's in Business Management from Linfield College, McMinnville, Ore.
"Athletics serves as a powerful and key role in the development of students' leadership skills. Athletics also helps students to develop positive exercising habits that allow them to live healthy adult lives. Athletics was the most important factor in my development as a leader, and I want to bring that experience to all students, " said Chisolm. "It is an honor to be a member of the St. Francis Community."
"With nearly fifty percent of the student body participating in athletics, Ryan's leadership and vision will make a significant impact on supporting the mission of St. Francis High School as it is carried out in the co-curricular life of the school," said President Fadia Desmond. "Ryan's work will ensure that academic and athletic excellence permeate the student athlete experience. During Ryan's tenure at University High School, a brand new athletic complex in the Presidio area of San Francisco and the school's master plan for a new gym were completed. These experiences will be a tremendous asset to St. Francis's progress on the aquatic complex."
St. Francis Catholic High School is the largest all-girls Catholic high school west of the Mississippi. Academically rigorous, with full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and a member of the National Coalition of Girls' Schools, St. Francis draws students from more than 100 area schools across five primary counties in the greater Sacramento region. St. Francis is also a member school of the Sac-Joaquin Section of the California Interscholastic Federation.
