Track and Field Qualifies Strong Team for Sections

LODI, Calif. – The 2019 Delta League Champion St. Francis track and field team enters the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I meet on Wednesday with a strong list of qualifiers with a combined 21 athletes in a total of 37 events. The Troubies will be seeking their first title since winning three consecutive from 2013-15.

Field events start at 2 p.m. on Wednesday with the pole vault including Delta League runner up Molly Chambers, juniors Meghan Ladd, Sasha Utter and Katya Utter competing. The Troubadours will also be represented by Sarah Healey in the discus.

Running events start at 5 p.m. with the Troubies represented in the 4x100m Relay, 400 Meters (Alexys Jones), 100 meters (Chanel Grimes, Isabelle Grassel and Kenna de Lemos), 110m hurdles (Reyna Johnson and Serena Shimada), 800 meters (Isabella Fauria, Sophie DeBenedetti and Haley Silva), 300m Hurdles (Shimada), 200m  (Grimes, de Lemos) and 4x400m Relay.

The top eight finishers at the Delta League Championship and automatic mark qualifiers advanced to the SJS Trials at Tokay High School in Lodi. The Troubies had 10 different event winners in the Varsity and Frosh/Soph divisions.
