4x1600 Wins at Arcadia Invitational, Breaks School Record with National-best Time

ARCADIA, Calif. – The St. Francis 4x1600 won the 4x1600m Relay Invitational in 20:20.82 to shatter the school record and post the top time in the nation this season. It was the 10th-fastest time in meet history and 19th-best all-time in California history.

The Troubies were represented by freshman Tatiana Cornejo, freshman Cate Joaquin, junior Haley Silva and junior Isabella Fauria. The defeated the team from Great Oak that recorded the second-best time in the nation by four seconds.

The foursome reset the school record set at the 2017 Arcadia Invitational by Sophie DeBenedetti, Kathryn Kramer, Noelle Lynch and Sydney Vandegrift (21:11.79) by almost 51 seconds.

The 4x1600-meter B relay ran in the seeded race and placed 12th. The foursome in the race included senior Sophie DeBenedetti, junior Emma Hollenbach, Hanna Hekkanen and freshman Claire Silva.

The 4x800-meter relay placed 18th in 10:01.38 in the seeded race with junior Grace Harrison, Hekkanen, junior Lilly O'Gara and junior Audrey Reyes running for the Troubadours.

St. Francis will be represented on Saturday by Fauris in the mile, sophomore Reyna Johnson in the 100m hurdles, Isabella Palchak in the high jump and a Distance Medley Relay team. SF will also have representatives in the Tiger Invitational in South Pasadena.
