Two More School Records Fall Saturday at Arcadia Invitational

ARCADIA, Calif. – Sophomore Reyna Johnson broke her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles and the Distance Medley Relay established a new mark in the relay incorporating four different distances Saturday at the Arcadia Invitational.

Johnson, the reigning GoTroubies.com Athlete of the Week, posted a time of 14.55 in the 100m hurdles to finish fourth. She broke the record for the second consecutive week and third time overall. She originally reset the mark at the Stanford Invitational, clocking 14.72 in the prelims and then posting 14.64 in the finals. She broke Tifani Grimes school record of 14.82 set in 2004.

She now ranks eighth overall in California and 80th overall in the nation.

The Distance Medley Relay posted a team season-best and school 11:51.90 with the foursome of Isabella Fauria, Cate Joaquin, Sophie DeBenedetti and Haley Silva to place second overall with the second-fastest time in the nation. The broke the record of 12:14.96 set at the Stanford Invitational in 2017 by DeBenedetti, Kathryn Kramer, Noelle Lynch and Sydney Vandegrdift.

The Troubadours' second entry in the event placed 16th with Emma Hollenbach, Lexy Jones, Hanna Hekkanen and Tatiana Cornjo posted a tome of 2:49.86, the 10th-best performance in school history.

Junior Isabella Palchak placed sixth in the high jump with a clearance on 5-4.

Overall, the Troubies broke three school records at Arcadia this weekend. St. Francis won the 4x1600m Relay Invitational in 20:20.82 to shatter the school record and post the top time in the nation this season. It was the 10th-fastest time in meet history and 19th-best all-time in California history. The Troubies were represented by freshman Tatiana Cornejo, freshman Cate Joaquin, junior Haley Silva and junior Isabella Fauria

St. Francis also competed in the 4x400m relay, placing 30th overall (4:14.66) with Lexy Jones, Lilly O'Gara, Grace Harrison and Johnson. The 4x800m relay was 18th with a time of 10:01.38 with Harrison, Hekkanen, O'Gara, and Audrey Reyes.
