SACRAMENTO, Calif - Swimmer Victoria Cao and Track and Field athlete Reyna Johnson are the GoTroubies.com Athletes of the Week for the week of March 9-17, 2019.

Freshman Cao won two individual events; the 50y freestyle in 25.41 and the 100y breaststroke in 1:10.13. Cao also helped the IM relay team win in 1:55.41. Sophomore Johnson won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.08 and the long jump 17-2 Saturday at the track and field Title IX Invitational at American River College. Johnson also ran the 100 meters in the sprint medley relay that helped the team win in 1:55.63.

Cao said, "Winning the 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle varsity was quite a fun experience at my first high school meet. It was a cold meet but I am very proud of the girls for coming together and cheering each other on throughout the afternoon; it was a very supportive atmosphere and I really enjoyed being a part of it. I still have a lot of work to put in, but I heard from many swimmers that high school swim is such a blast and I can't wait to race in more meets!"

Johnson said, "For the sprint medley, we did really well as a team, we pushed ourselves to the limit and exceeded our scores from last year. In the 100 meter hurdles, I need improvement to drop down to the high 14s. For long jump, it was my first time."

The St. Francis swimming team will be back in action March 19 against Christian Brothers at Jesuit High School for Holy Waters and the track and field team will compete March 16 at the Husky Invitational at Sheldon High School.
