SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis basketball team was eliminated in their playoff opener against Inderkum 52-41 on Monday night.

"We spent a lot of time in the locker room and seven girls are closing their locker room door for a long time," said Head Coach Heather Volek Brownholtz. "There is a lot of emotion. If you could start your season in the locker room, it would make all the difference in the world. We had a lot of tears, passion and love. These girls learned a lot this season. We worked hard to get to the playoffs and competed hard against a really good team."

The Troubadours got 11 points from Mia Fleming-Mullins and nine each from junior Jasmine Lee, senior Ally Gage and senior Nika Bagatelos.

"I believe in every girl on this team and when I put you on the court my expectation is you believe in yourself," said Brownholtz.

St. Francis (13-16) trailed at the half 23-18 as Fleming-Mullins and Jasmine Lee scored six each in the first half. Lee added a third triple in the third quarter and Lauren Pank and Bagatelos tried to keep the Troubies in the game.

Interkum's Nailah Dillard had a game-high 21 points to lead the Tigers.

"She is a beast on the inside and she knocked some down from the outside," said Brownholtz. "We held her to eight in the first half but she got away from us a little bit. We did all we could.

St. Francis finished the season fifth in the Delta League and recorded 13 wins on the season. The Troubadours say goodbye in seven seniors who completed their careers on Monday.

The annual team banquet will be held in the coming weeks on a date and time to be announced.
