Basketball Wins Second in a Row, Defeats Sheldon on the Road

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Sophomore Mackenzie Le scored a team-best 11 points off the bench to spark the St. Francis basketball team to a 52-46 win over Sheldon on the road.

"We did it together and played with a great intensity," said senior Ally Gage. "It helped to have a whole team effort. We kept the intensity and fought to the end."

The Troubadours had a balanced scoring attack with three players in double figures led by Le. She sparked a 17-point second quarter with four points. Gage and Nika Bagatelos added a pair of baskets and junior Jasmine Lee hit a three-pointer as SF took a 27-17 lead at the break.

"Since she is the youngest on the team, it is great to see her do well," said Gage of Le. "Her intensity brought the whole bench and everyone on the court."

Le added two second-half baskets as the Troubadours held off a Sheldon rally.

Lee finished with 10 points, including two three-pointers and Bagatelos added 10. Gage had seven points and 10 boards, while junior Mia Fleming-Mullins added eight and 14 boards.

"It was nice to see different combos of scorers," said Gage. "Collectively for everyone to put something on the stat line helped a lot."
