Basketball Defeats Campolindo in Lamorinda Classic

MORAGA, Calif. – The St. Francis basketball team stepped out of league play for a game against Campolindo in the Lamorinda Classic Saturday, defeating the Cougars 53-41 at Miramonte High School.

Junior Mia Fleming-Mullins led the Troubadours with 18 points, while Nika Bagatelos and Mackenzie Le tallied 10 points in the win.

St. Francis trailed 9-8 at the end of the first quarter but went on a 14-0 run in the second to build a 23-9 advantage. Le added two baskets to total eight points in the first half and junior Jasmine Lee scored all five of her points. Campolindo rallied to cut the deficit to 23-18 but the Troubadours took control in the third quarter.

Fleming-Mullins scored nine points in the quarter and senior Nika Bagatelos hit the first of two three-pointers in the game. She added five points in the fourth and junior Nicole Rivera hit a pair of threes.

Le finished team-best with five steals and five assists while going 5-for-7 from the field. Senior Ally Gage led the team with eight rebounds with teammate Fleming-Mullins grabbing seven in the contest with a team-best four blocks. Nicole Rivera had a career-high eight points.

The Classic is the longest-standing girls showcase in California and featured St. Mary's, Las Lomas, Piedmont, Woodside Priory, Oakland, Clovis, Miramonte and Whitney high schools.

St. Francis returns to Delta League action on Tuesday against Elk Grove at 7 p.m. at St. Francis
