CARMICHAEL, Calif. — Senior Victoria Cao and freshman Erica Jaffe each won two events to lead St. Francis to a decisive 150-18 win over Elk Grove in Delta League girls' swimming action at Jesuit Aquatic Center Wednesday.

The meet scoring includes the 1-meter diving from a meet concurrently running in Rio Linda that afternoon. 

Cao won the two sprint freestyle events, touching home in the 50-yard race in 25.65 seconds, then claiming the 100 at 55.74. Cao's win in the 50 free edged fellow SFHS senior Meredith Garcia's second-place 25.79, while her 100 free time edged teammate Grace Mering by a mere nine hundredths of a second.

Jaffe won both the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke with times of 2:10.21 and 57.33, respectively. Jaffe also led off the Troubadours' winning 200 medley relay (1:51.73) and 200 free relay (1:43.74).

Sara Jones and Isabelle Schmid won the 200 and 500 free events, with respective times of 2:04.99 and 5:33.81. Among the other strokes, Makenna Frederiksen claimed the 100 butterfly at 1:01.53. She also swam the third segment of the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

Gabriella Ching won the 100 breaststroke at 1:13.00, while swimming the second leg of the victorious 400 free relay (3:52.15).

Meanwhile, Sinclair Yadao won the 1-meter diving with a 221.75 to provide St. Francis with another event win.

St. Francis also won all junior varsity races, with Ashlyn Brock (200 free, 100 fly), Grace Himmelmann (200 IM), Kennedy Seitz (50 free, 100 breast), Mary Margaret Ferrara (100 free), Clare Krengel (500 free) and Camille Olsen (100 back) claiming individual events.

The Troubies return to action in a rare meet outside the Sacramento area, taking on Carondelet in a dual meet in Concord on April 6.
