Swimming Team Celebrated Season at Banquet

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis swimming team celebrated their season Wednesday at their annual team banquet following the last final to kickoff the summer break.

Head Coach Richard Levin recognized four swimmers with the team Most Valuable Swimmer honors including senior Hannah Parulan, junior Emma Peters and freshmen Victoria Cao and Meredith Garcia.

Peters posted two finals appearances at Sections, placing seventh in the 200y free and 11th in the 200y individual medley. She also swam on the fifth-place 400y free relay.

Parulan was 14th in the 200y individual medley at sections and swam on the 200y medley relay and 400y free relay. Cao was eighth in the 100y freestyle and 10th i the 100y breaststroke. Garcia was a finalist in the 50y free, touching 15th, and awimming on both free relays.

Sophomores Maria Corvacho Marrugo and Maddie Hoppa were named Junior Varsity Most Valuable Swimmers with freshmen Lauren Jones and Baya McIntosh.
