Swimming Defeats Christian Brothers in Holy Splash

CARMICHAEL, Calif. – The St. Francis swimming team won Holy Splash on Tuesday over Christian Brothers in convincing fashion. Varsity won 125-45 and Frosh/Soph Troubies posted a 104-58 victory over their rivals. 

Freshman Victoria Cao won two events in taking the 100y backstroke in 1:02.68 and the 200y individual medley in 2:15.62. Senior Hannah Parulan won the 200y freestyle in 2:03.40. Junior Emma Peters took the 500y freestyle in 5:23.24 and sophomore Jaclynn Burgess won the 100y breaststroke in 1:14.67.

Sophomore Maria Corvacho Marrugo was the winner in the 100y butterfly in 1:01.84.

Other top finishes included Peters taking second in the 500 free in 24.71 and junior Emma Daniels touching second in the 100-yard freestyle in 58.96.

St. Francis also took all three relays in the meet en route to the win.

Winner for the Troubadours in the Frosh/Soph meet included freshman Baya McIntosh in the 200 y freestyle, freshman Taja Suruki in the 200 individual medley and sophomore Maddie Hoppa in the 100y backstroke.
