Dede Crayne
Title: Head Varsity Diving Coach
Email: dcrayne@stfrancishs.org

Dede Crayne is beginning her 20th season leading the St. Francis diving program in 2019.

She recently tutored Molly Wilson to three consecutive CIF State Championship appearances and Julia Coss represented St. Francis at the first championship in 2015. Wilson signed to dive collegiately at Cal Poly, the 14th former Troubie to sign following their St. Francis careers.

Wilson won back-to-back Sac-Joaquin Section titles under her guidance in 2016 and 2017 and finished second in 2018.

Under her direction, freshman Julia Coss competed at the first CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships held at Clovis West High School and finished 22nd overall. She was third and one of five divers who competed at the Sac-Joaquin Section finals for the Troubadours, the most of any school in the section. Coss was the only freshman in the field after qualifying at the trials and finished second at the Delta League Championships to teammate Tiffany Wong.

Wong won the Delta League diving competition in 2015 with a personal-best winning total of 468.00 for her 11-dive total as St. Francis swept the top four spots in the varsity competition. She earned All-Delta League for her performance.

Sullivan signed to dive at UC San Diego. She joins Allison Autrey (UC Davis) and Amy Crayne (Western Kentucky) among her recent divers who competed collegiately.

In 2014, senior Allison Autrey finished seventh and junior Patty Sullivan was ninth at the 2014 Sac-Joaquin Section Diving Finals. Sullivan won the Delta River League individual title, scoring a 375.25 to claim the individual league diving title and earn All-DRL honors.

Crayne has coached two individual national champions, one junior college state champion and more than 20 section champions.

In addition to her St. Francis duties, she coaches for Christian Brothers, Jesuit and El Camino, as well American River College.

Crayne was an All-American and national finalist diver at Chico State, earning her physical education degree in 1988 and master’s in exercise physiology in 1989. She won the state championship at Santa Rose Junior College in 1985 on both one-meter and three-meter boards, earning All-America status.

Crayne’s daughter, Amy, graduated from St. Francis in 2013 and currently serves as an assistant coach.
