SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Junior outside hitter Olivia Mlikotin scored 19 kills against just seven hitting errors while junior middle Sophia Garza added another 14 kills and a .458 hitting average, but St. Francis ultimately came down on the losing end of a four-set, 15-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 battle with Christian Brothers in the annual Holy Court rivalry match Saturday night.

The Troubadours slip to 22-7 for the year. The Falcons improve to 24-6 overall. The two teams were third and sixth, respectively, in Thursday's MaxPreps Sac-Joaquin Section rankings.

The match also featured a lively, albeit slightly reduced crowd at St. Francis Gym, as tickets sold out within an hour of going on sale to the public on Tuesday.

A total of five Troubie players broke double digits on floor defense, with setter Kate Fobes leading the way with 16 digs and liber Justine Pulmones following close behind with 14 gets. Carli Padilla added 12, Mlikotin had 11 and defensive specialist Lizzy Gilhooly chipped in another 10.

The SFHS junior varsity and frosh teams each won their respective matches prior to the varsity showdown. The JV squad rallied back from a first-set loss in a 22-25, 25-13, 15-10 victory, while the frosh squad swept CB by scores of 25-21 and 25-16.

St. Francis turns around to host Cosumnes Oaks for Delta League action on Monday.
