Balanced attack forges 3-0 road sweep at Sheldon

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The trio of junior outside hitter Sofia Alkire, junior middle blocker Sophia Garza and senior middle Zoe Hopkins each tallied eight kills to boost St. Francis High to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-20 sweep at Sheldon High Wednesday night.

The Troubadours improve to a 22-6 overall mark and 8-2 record in Delta League play. 

Charlise Rowe added another seven kills to boost the SFHS offense, while libero Justine Pulmones led the floor defense with 11 digs. Setter Carli Padilla ran the offense to a .215 hitting average while supplying 23 assists, eight digs and five kills on her end.

SFHS also swept the freshman (25-12, 25-15) and junior varsity (25-10, 25-8) matchups against the Huskies earlier on Wednesday.

The Troubies return home to host Christian Brothers in the annual Holy Court matchup on Saturday.
