St. Francis earns No. 5 playoff seed, hosts Lodi on Tuesday

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis has drawn the No. 5 seed in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I girls' volleyball playoff bracket, and will host Lodi for its first-round match on Tuesday, October 25. Match time is 7 p.m. at the SFHS gym.

Under the tutelage of head coach Alynn Wright, the Troubadours finished the regular season with a 20-7 overall record, and won the Delta League championship for the fourth time in the last five full seasons. The Flames went 11-14 for the year, and finished third in the Tri-City Athletic League standings with a 6-4 mark.

St. Francis seeks its 14th all-time SJS title, and its fourth in the D-I draw. The Troubies last won the section banner in 2019, sweeping Oak Ridge in the title match as that year's No. 1 seed. This is also the first year SF has been seeded fifth specifically since 2016. That squad upset fourth-seeded Del Oro in three sets before falling to top-seeded Whitney in four.

In order, the top four seeds in the 2022 Division I bracket are St. Mary's, Oak Ridge, Pitman and Rocklin. The Delta League is represented by No. 5 St. Francis, No. 7 Pleasant Grove, No. 8 Davis and No. 11 Franklin in the D-1 draw, with Cosumnes Oaks holding the No. 10 seed in the D-2 bracket.

Tickets for the CIF-SJS postseason are available exclusively through GoFan at https://gofan.co/app/school/CIFSJS. The individual matches should populate on that site shortly as they are added to the system.
