Kelli Corlett Named St. Francis Varsity Golf Coach

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Kelli Corlett has been named the Head Golf Coach at St. Francis High School, Athletic Director Mark McGreevy announced.

"I am very excited for the coaching opportunity within the St. Francis community," said Corlett. "Coaching is a passion of mine, as well as positively impacting our youth. The season will be fun and I am looking forward to meeting and learning from the team."

She brings a wealth of coaching and teaching experience to the program. She is currently the Director of Youth, Family and Adaptive for Morton Golf, based at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. She has associations with Saving Strokes, The First Tee of Greater Sacramento (where she has been a coach for the last nine years and participant since the age of 12) as well as the PGA, LPGA, Special Olympics, the Latino Junior Golf Association and many more.

"We are very excited to welcome Coach Corlett to the SF family," said McGreevy.  "Given her expertise in the sport, her character, and her experience as an athlete and instructor, I'm confident the impressive legacy of Troubadour Golf will continue to be in good hands under her leadership."

She was named a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach in 2013, a U.S. Kids Top 50 Teacher, U.S. Kids Top 50 Master Kids Teacher and is one of 10 The First Tee Master Coaches.

"In our search, her name kept coming up from longtime friends of the program and when we finally had the chance to meet her in person we could easily see why," said McGreevy. "She combines the love of the game with a sincere dedication to the development of the athletes under her charge.  As a former student-athlete from Loretto High School and Dominican University, she also brings first-hand experience of the mission of competitive sports in a Catholic school context."

Corlett was born and raised in Sacramento and she was a 2005 graduate of Loretto High School where she played basketball, soccer and golf.

She graduated from Dominican University, based in San Rafael in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Sports Management. She also earned a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Global Management in 2010. She played both soccer and golf for the Penguins.
