SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior tennis players Izzy Askar and Alisha Anwar were named the GoTroubies.com Co-Athletes of the Week for Nov 3-9.. Both with stellar play in their doubles matches in reaching the final match of the Sac-Joaquin Section doubles final before losing a tight 7-6, 6-4 final to top-seed Alison Isaac and Sophia Fusano of Del Oro at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club.
The junior pair loves working together. "We know how to communicate well with each other, and know how to balance out each other's emotions. We have been friends for so long, so we know certain things to say to each other" said Anwar. Both girls are proud of their successes this last week and are working for SJS Section-Finals
The team will compete tomorrow Nov. 14 at 3p.m. at Broadstone Racquet Club in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Finals which then has qualified them for the NorCal championship tournament.
