SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Kate Macintyre will sign with the UC Davis lacrosse program and join the Aggie program and attend the school in Davis this fall.

"I am beyond excited to continue playing at such a great school," said Macintyre. "I know the coaches and they are amazing and inspiring. I am excited to keep working with them. Everything about UC Davis is perfect for me."

Macintyre will play for Aggie Head Coach Suzanne Isador, who took over the program in 2-17. She had played for the coach in middle school and members of her staff with her Tenacity club.

"Everything was pretty amazing," said Macintyre. "The team is so nice and it was the collection of the people, the school and major were perfect for me as well as the proximity to my family."

Macintyre, who plays goalie, has been a three-year letter winner for the Troubadour lacrosse program before being sidelined this season with an injury.

"It was fun and I enjoyed playing for the high school team," said Macintyre. "It is better than club because you get to see your teammate every day and connect with them on and off the field. You can bond with people and they become a second family to you. I am glad I got to experience that here."

Macintyre thanked Head Coach Julia Southard for helping with her development.

"Coach Jules has helped me grow as a person and I got better as an athlete, person and a teammate," said Macintyre.

She played in 38 career games in goal for the Troubadours, making 141 career saves with a 44.6 save percentage over three seasons.

"It is a lot different than the other positions and it is fun to play," said Macintyre. "It is always different, every shot and player. I like seeing new and different things. I love playing the position."

Macintyre will study viticulture and enology at UC Davis.

"It seemed to fit my personality and interests in science and chemistry," said Macintyre.

She will participate in the St. Francis Spring Signing Day event on Wednesday, April 17 at 8:30 a.m.
