A standout goalkeeper at Oak Ridge High, Long Beach State and Azusa Pacific, Kate Green-Jones joined the St. Francis water polo program as the head junior varsity coach in 2023.

Green-Jones began playing water polo as a freshman at ORHS, going on to earn All-Sierra Foothill League as both a junior and senior while adding a berth to the All-Sac-Joaquin Section second team as a senior. During that span, she set the Trojan school record of 416 saves. Green-Jones also played club ball for American River WPC.

Green-Jones went on to play for Big West Conference-member Long Beach State for three years, then transferred to Azusa Pacific for her senior year. In that 2022 season, she tallied 178 saves against 166 goals for a .517 save average. She also set a school record with 20 saves against Indiana, one of nine games in which she recorded double-digit saves. Green-Jones capped her collegiate career with an ACWPC All-America honorable mention. She also added an All-Academic award from that organization for sporting a cumulative GPA of better than 3.2.

Green-Jones graduated with a degree in communication studies, and now works full-time in the Sacramento area while coaching at St. Francis.
