In July 2022, St. Francis Catholic High School welcomed Ryan Chisolm as its new director of athletics. Chisolm previously served as an assisant AD then associate AD at University High School in San Francisco. He also served on the event staff at Stanford and coached basketball at University High, Gilroy High and Linfield College.

Chisolm is a perfect example of the caliber of professionals St. Francis seeks to mentor its coaches and student-athletes. He has a Masters in Sports Management from the University of San Francisco, and received his Bachelor's in Business Management from Linfield College, McMinnville, Ore.

"Athletics serves as a powerful and key role in the development of students' leadership skills. Athletics also helps students to develop positive exercising habits that allow them to live healthy adult lives. Athletics was the most important factor in my development as a leader, and I want to bring that experience to all students, " said Chisolm. "It is an honor to be a member of the St. Francis Community."

"With nearly fifty percent of the student body participating in athletics, Ryan's leadership and vision will make a significant impact on supporting the mission of St. Francis High School as it is carried out in the co-curricular life of the school," said President Fadia Desmond. "Ryan's work will ensure that academic and athletic excellence permeate the student athlete experience. During Ryan's tenure at University High School, a brand new athletic complex in the Presidio area of San Francisco and the school's master plan for a new gym were completed. These experiences will be a tremendous asset to St. Francis's progress on the aquatic complex."

A collegiate basketball player himself, Chisolm graduated from Linfield (McMinnville, Oregon) with a degree in business management, then added a master's in sport management from the University of San Francisco. He then interned for SFUHS the following year before being elevated to a full-fledged staff position. Chisolm held the associate AD title from 2017-21, assisting in all aspects of the department: scheduling, facilities, budget, coach recruitment/hiring, and even outreach and marketing efforts.

Chisolm began his SFHS appointment on July 18, 2022.
