SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Two exceptional athletes Zoe Sloat on Varsity Water Polo and Cate Joaquin representing Cross Country's are being recognized for their stellar play performances last week as GoTroubies.com Co-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sept. 21.

Sloat has played impeccable defense leading the team to a 3-1 tournament record this past weekend. Joaquin this past week represented the troubies well at the Woodbridge Invitational finishing first on the SF team and fifth overall.

Junior Sloat is an outstanding defender who will do anything to help her team. As Coach Whalen said "She consistently and constantly shuts down any center who is in there whether they are bigger than her or not. She does not allow a pass in." Sloat shuts down all the centers and is constantly a rock for her teammates.

Sophomore Joaquin led the team with a fifth-place finish overall in 16:25 at the Woodbridge Invitational this past weekend held at the Sliverlake Sports Complex in Norco, Calif. Cate has had an amazing start to her season also finishing 1st in the Josh Ruff Memorial held at Willow Hills Reservoir Course in Folsom, Calif. at 18:41.
