WALNUT, Calif. – Sophomore Cate Joaquin finished 10th at the Footlocker West Regional Girls Championship race in 17:14 to qualify to move on to the Footlocker Nationals next Saturday in San Diego.
Cate recently completed her sophomore cross country season, leading the Troubadours to a sixth-place finish at the CIF State Championships. She was fourth overall to record the best finish by a St. Francis runner in school history with the second-best time by a Troubadour at the state championships.
She was one of the top runners on the team, helping St. Francis win the Delta League and Sac-Joaquin Section team championships. She was named the Delta League Runner of the Year. She won the individual titles at the Josh Ruff Memprial, Delta League and Delta League Championship meets during the season.
