Water Polo Garners No. 2 Seed in Section Bracket

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis water polo team received a No. 2 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section bracket announced Thursday. The Troubadours will host a second-round game at Jesuit High School on Thursday, Nov. 7 against the winner of No. 7 Oak Ridge and No. 12 McClatchy. The game will be at 7 p.m.

"It is very exciting," said senior Alyssa Jacobsen. "We have definitely been on an uphill battle. It shows that our hard work has been paying off."

Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and military and $5 for students with children age 5 and under are free. The winner advances to a semifinal matchup to be played Tuesday, Nov. 12 .at Johansen High School at 3:15 p.m.

The rest of the bracket includes No. 9 Bear Creek at No. 8 Lodi, No. 12 Rocklin at No. 5 Lincoln-S, No. 13 Gregori at No. 4 Woodcreek, No. 14 Pitman at No. 3 Granite Bay and No. 11 River City at No. 6 Turlock.

"We just need to keep our composure in the games," said Jacobsen. "It is an exciting atmosphere and knowing how to keep our cool will help us."

St. Francis (15-9) closed out the regular season with a loss at Davis, the top seed in the bracket, on Tuesday night. The Troubadours have been section runner-up for each of the last two seasons.
