Water Polo Wins League Opener at Franklin

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Allie Belafsky had six goals and an assist in a 29-2 win over Franklin at the Wackford Pool on Tuesday.

Belafsky's six goals were a career-high and were one more than her career total. Overall 13 players scored in the contest with nine finding the cage multiple times.

The Troubadours (13-5) scored eight times in the first quarter and 10 in the second to lead 18-1 at the break. SF added three in the third and eight in the fourth.

Goalie Claire McManus got her first action outside of the cage, scoring three times. Junior Emma Olver and Libby Slater each added three goals. Juniors Zoe Sloat, Riley Glenn, seniors Bella Vierra and Kendall Houck and freshman Gauri Mathkarot added two goals for the Troubies.

St. Francis is off the test of the week and returns to the pool on Oct. 22 against McClatchy.
