SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Alumna Brinnley Barthels '14 led Pacific to its third consecutive Golden Coast Conference title and was named to the All-Tournament team to cap off her senior season. It was just one of a host notable accomplishments by St. Francis water polo alumnae this spring.

Barthels and her Tiger team advanced to the NCAA Championships held at Stanford. They defeated Cal Lutheran before falling to the Cardinal in the quarterfinals.

Barthels sister, Jennalyn '16, was a captain for Cal-State Northridge team. She earned All-Big West Honorable Mention honors. The junior from Sacramento set new career highs in just about every category as she finished the 2019 year second on the team in goals (39), first in assists (37) and first in blocks (13). Her 37 assists ranked second in the conference. The all-around utility player is also third on the team in steals (28) and in goal percentage (.424).

"Jenna has come so far since her freshman year, it was really rewarding to see her hard work pay off and have other Big West coaches recognize this makes it even more special," said Head Coach Warshaw.

Cal senior Lauren Charter '15 played for the NCAA semifinalist Bears and scored a goal in their semifinal loss to Stanford.
