Get to Know: Volleyball's #15 Lara Chappuie
Lara is in her second season on the varsity team. She started playing in elementary school. She is a member of Latin Club and competes regionally with the Club. They have the Northern California Convention later this month and State Convention is in April. She also likes to bake in her free time.

How is senior season going?
"It is going really well. We been really successful at the beginning. We hope to continue our success throughout the season. It has been really exciting for me to play as a senior and watch every other girl grow, especially the younger players. It is really exciting for them."

What are your goals for this season?
"A goal for myself is to go out playing my hardest and to play with a lot of confidence and heart. It is my last season. One of the goals I want my team to achieve is to win one of the big titles like Sections and NorCals. Our biggest hope would be State Championships."

What are goals for college?
"I am excited to go to college and take the next step. I have a lot options like UC's and a few East coast schools."

What interested you in studying Latin?
"It was kind of an impulse decision my freshman year. I did not seem interested in any other language so it seemed like the best choice for me. It was one of the best decisions I have made."

What does a Latin Convention involve?
"The boring stuff is the academic tests. All the schools from Northern California come and it includes sports and art activities as well lectures. It is a great opportunity to compete and interact with the other schools. We tend to bring in a lot of awards. It is cool because it is exciting to see the girls do well in Latin. (Lara has received First in Grammar and Third in Daily Life individually and the school won the Spirit Award.)

How are you trying to remember your Senior Year?
"It has not hit me yet that it is senior year. What I am trying to ignore the regular school challenges I am having and focusing on making the best of everything I do at school.  I am trying to make the best out of each experience and by happy about everything."
