Troubadours Featured in National Public Service Announcements

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Three St. Francis students were featured in two Impact Teen Drivers public service announcements to be used nationwide to educate communities and teens on the perils of distracted driving. The PSAs were filmed this summer at Jesuit High School.

Track and Field and volleyball player Reyna Johnson is featured with junior Lilly O'Gara, who participates in cross country and track, are in one video on the track, while soccer player Brooke Talley is shown in a video playing a goalie in second video.

"It was interesting," said Johnson, who was a finalist in the 100-meter hurdles at the CIF State Championships last year. "I did it with Lilly and I got the overall message. I would like to think (the message) got across."

Johnson said they shooting for close to an hour and half to produce the final product.

Impact Teen Driver (ITD) is a non-profit that is the leading voice on texting and driving, and teen distracted and reckless driving education. ITD hosted the last Wellness Assembly and has hosted St. Francis students for four years at the California Highway Patrol Academy for a Parent/Teen Safe Driving Workshop. ITD has also provided summer internship opportunities for multiple St. Francis students.
