Volleyball Improves to 27-0 with Elk Grove Win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Chloe Henning had a team-best 11 kills to record her second double-digit kill match of her career to lead St. Francis to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-8, 25-10) win over Elk Grove Thursday night.

"We did OK tonight," said Henning. "We definitely have some things to work on. It was kinda a rough start but we had a strong finish at the end,"

SF won the first set 25-14, trailing early in the match but got the offense rolling with 25-8 and 25-10 wins in the second and third sets respectively.

The Troubadours improved to 27-0 and 9-0 in the Delta League.

Henning, who was recently named to the PrepVolleyball.com Phenom List, led the team with her 11 kills and two blocks while hitting career-best .692. She now has 112 kills on the season, the second-best total on the team.

Head Coach Alynn Wright used her depth in the match as seven players recorded kills and 12 had digs in the match.

St. Francis travels south to Stockton on Saturday for the Stockton Invitational with a challenging regional field.

"We are looking forward to tough competition on Saturday," said Henning. "We are looking forward to showcasing the work we have put in at practice. We are excited to spend some time together as a team."

St. Francis improved to No. 41 in the FloVolleyball national Top 50 this week.
