Volleyball Wins Chris Craft Invitational

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – The St. Francis volleyball team won the Chris Craft Invitational on Saturday at Oak Ridge High School, posting a 6-0 record and winning three-set battles with host Oak Ridge in the semifinals and Presentation in the final.

The Troubadours improved to 24-0 on the season to continuie the best start in school history. St. Francis opened the day with a win over Ponderosa (25-14, 25-9) and then took down Del Oro (25-20, 25-25) and Granite Bay (25-20, 25-15).  After a win over Lincoln, the Troubies faced host No. 17 (Fit Pro Go! Nor Cal Top 20) Oak Ridge in the semifinals. After dropping the first set 25-27, they rallied for a 25-20, 15-8 win to reach the final and hand the Trojans just their third loss of the season (18-3) and second in two meetings between the schools.

In the finials, St. Francis opened with a 25-13 win in the first set over No. 20 Presentation but dropped the second 21-25, losing just their fourth set of the season. But the Troubies remained undefeated with a 15-13 win the final set.

St. Francis is off on Tuesday but will hold their Letters to Dad event. They return to action against Davis at home on Thursday as the Delta League schedule flips to the second half as the Troubadours (6-0) look to defend their title for the third consecutive season.
