Volleyball Improves to 17-0 with Straight Set Win at CO

ELK GROVE, Calif. – The No.1-ranked St. Francis varsity volleyball team was tested on the road at Cosumnes Oaks but still prevailed 25-23, 25-13, 26-24 in straight sets to improve to 17-0 on the season and 5-0 in Delta League play on Tuesday.

Senior Alexa Edwards recorded 16 kills while hitting .342 and added 12 digs to pace the victory. Junior Chloe Henning and Lauren Patella added six kills with three aces and six digs. Senior Danica Nelson had 12 digs and junior Ellie Eichhorn (16 assists) and senior Jesiree Moral (12 assists) ran the offensive attack.

St. Francis is the No. 1 ranked team in the Sacramento Bee poll for the fourth consecutive week. The 17-0 start is the best for the program since the Troubadours opened the 2012 season 15-0. The best start in recent history is 18-0 in 2005. St. Francis reached the State Championship in both 2005 and 2012, winning the title in 2005.

St. Francis hosts Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
