Tennis Coach Kristi Spector Named Coach of the Year

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis tennis coach Kristi Spector was named the Delta League Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season after leading the team to the best finish in school history for the second consecutive season.

"It is an honor," said Spector. "I do not take it for granted and I am humbled by it. All of the of the coaches we play against could be very deserving as well. I appreciate it."

Spector is assisted by Mary Johnson and Camille Benvenutti.

The team advanced to the CIF/USTA Northern California Regional semifinals for the second consecutive season, tying the best finish in school history (2007, 2008, 2011, 2017).

St. Francis finished the season with a 21-3 overall record, winning the Delta League Championship with a 12-0 record. It is the fourth consecutive league title under Spector, who completed her sixth season leading the tennis program.

The Troubadours also advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section finals for the third consecutive season before falling to Rocklin. St. Francois won the title last season.

Spector led juniors Bianca Ariza and Samnatha Sonntag to the Delta League doubles title, while Adithi Benush advanced to the Delta League singles final. Overall five Troubadours earned All-Delta League honors under Spector this season.
