ROCKLIN, Calif. – Junior Jackie Stanco scored two times to lead the St. Francis soccer team to a 2-0 win over Bella Vista in their opening game of the Rocklin Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
Stanco scored in the 13th minute of the first half off an assist by senior Marli Berry, a Howard University commit, for a 1-0 lead. She added a second goal 13 minutes later from senior and Chico State Emily Billena to push the lead to 2-0 and provide all the scoring on the day. She has three goals on the season in the first two games.
St. Francis takes on Vista del Lago at Whitney HS at 11 a.m. Friday morning and then host Rocklin at 6:30 p.m. in the stadium at Rocklin HS.
