2019 Soccer Team Highlights
  • St. Francis won the CIF Northern California Division II Regional title over Mountain View 1-0 on a golden goal by Lindsey Piatanesi.
  • St. Francis ranked No. 39 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Fab 50, No. 16 in the state rankings and No. 6 in the regional list. SF was ranked No. 7 in the state and No. 21 in the nation by Maxpreps.
  • The Troubadours advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II final before losing in the finals to Whitney 3-0.
  • St. Francis finished second in the Delta League with a 10-1-1 overall record. SF was 8-2-2 at home and 5-4 on the road with a 3-0-2 neutral field mark.
  • St. Francis tied Davis 0-0 on Feb. 1. The Troubies were one of two teams to hold the team scoreless on the season. The Blue Devils were ranked 19th in the nation at the time of the game.
  • Four players were named to the All-Delta League team including Lindsey Porter, Elise Urkov, Janae DeFazio and Marli Berry.
  • Junior Grace Barger was selected for the Cornerstone Award at the varsity soccer team's annual banquet on Feb. 25. The award is the equivalent of the MVP award.
  • Barger also received the Golden Boot given by the year's previous winner senior Lindsey Porter.
  • Seniors Elise Urkov and Janae DeFazio were named the Co-Offensive Most Valuable Players. Urkov has scored three goals and had 10 assists on the season, the second-best total on the team. She was an All-Delta League section and team captain and has committed to play at the United States Military Academy.
  • DeFazio, a UCLA commit, led the team in points with 42 and ranked second in goals with 10. She recorded a team-best 18 assists on the season.
  • Marli Berry was named to the Defensive Most Valuable Player, anchoring a Troubie defense that led the team to the CIF NorCal title with five shutouts in the playoffs with only one goal allowed.
  • Junior Lindsey Piatanesi was named to the Newcomer of the Year. She led the team in goals including the game winner in the CIF NorCal Regional final.
  • Junior Ari Spence received the Delta League Sportsmanship Award.
