Lacrosse Drops Regular Season Finale at Davis

DAVIS, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse team lost its regular season finale 15-6 at Davis to finish in fourth in the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League and earn a postseason berth. The Troubadours will play at Granite Bay on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the SVL semifinals.

St. Francis finished 10-3 with a 4-3 league mark.

The Troubadours fell behind 6-3 in the first half.  The teams exchanged goals over the first 10 minutes as the Blue Devils led 3-2 on their Senior Night but built the advantage a Alex Agnew scored three times.

St. Francis pulled even at 6 in their comeback effort as Judy Cates, Maggie Price and Sophia Gorona scored. But the momentum died shortly after as Davis as Amara Hopkins scored one of her three goals. Davis went on to shut out SF over the remainder of the game, scoring nine unanswered goals.

St. Francis will face Granite Bay, a 17-7 winner in the regular season, in the league semifinals. The winner faces the winner of Oak Ridge and Davis on Friday for the league championship.
