JV Gold Basketball Goes 2-1 in Opening Tournament

STOCKTON, Calif. – Freshman JoJo Myers hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to help the JV Gold team defeat Sacred Heart 59-58 and complete a 2-1 weekend at the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Jamboree. Myers scored 41 points over the weekend in three games (13.6 ppg.)

In a close game, SF trailed by two entering the final quarter. The triple gave Myers 14 for the game, tying sophomore Raquel Smith for team-high honors. Zahra Smith added 13 points in the win.

St. Francis defeated St, Mary's in their second game on Friday led by Myers' 19 points and 14 from Mo Cornejo.

St. Francis lost the opener to Folsom as Emily Dusel had a team-best 13 points among nine players scoring in the game.

The Troubies return to action at the Lady Pirate Holiday Classic on Thursday.
