Basketball Falls to Acalanes in Turkey Eve Game

LAFAYETTE, Calif. – Juniors Mackenzie Le and Sarah Cloninger each scored 14 points but is was not enough in a 65-51 loss to Acalanes Wednesday night in the official season opener for the Troubadours.

St. Francis fell behind 15-4 in the opening quarter and never closed the gap. The Troubies tried to get back in the game with an 18-point second quarter as the offense got going. Le and Cloninger added a pair of baskets as the team closed the gap to 30-22 at the break.

SF kept in it within 15 in the third as Cloninger and Jasmine Lee each scored six points. Nicole Rivera scored six of her 12 points in the fourth but the Dons held on for the victory.

Acalanes had four players in double figures led by G. Gebbhardt with 16 points.
