Oge Okoye Named Freshman Basketball Most Valuable Player

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Freshman Oge Okoye was named the freshman basketball team's Most Valuable Player on March 7.

Okoye was selected the Most Valuable Player after scoring a team-best 9.4 points per game. She recorded 10 games in double digits highlighted by two games of 19 points against Folsom and Davis.

Marisa Kamin received the Defensive Player of the Year, while Grace Bashore was the Offensive Player of the Year.  Ariana Ross was chosen for the Coaches' Award and Raquel Smith was the recipient of the Team Award.

The team went 16-7 on the season with a 4-0 mark in Delta League play under Brian Montes and assistant Bailee Bernard.
