SACRAMENTO, Calif - Freshman Hope Jenkins is the GoTroubies.com Athlete of the Week for March 10-17, 2019. Jenkins pitched seven innings for St. Francis, leading them into a 2-0 shutout against Davis Friday afternoon during their first Delta League game. Jenkins struck out 11 Blue Devils, had no walks during the game and kept the game scoreless for the Troubies.
"I felt pretty good after the game and I was proud of myself and also my team," said Jenkins. "I feel if I didn't have the support from my team then we may have not pulled out this win. I am very grateful that I have a supportive team, especially being a freshman and helping win the league opener. I am very excited for this season, excited to learn more from my coaches and the seniors and for this team because I know that we will do great this season."
The St. Francis softball team will play Rosemont Tuesday March 19 at 3:30 p.m.
